Senior PHP Software Developer (m/f/d)


in full time
at one of our locations in Hamburg, Berlin, Hanover or Oldenburg.

We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our team in Germany and work on the Abo-Online project, our innovative subscription management platform that we developed in-house and is tailored to the needs of public transportation companies.

The following tasks fall within this area of responsibility

  • Development and maintenance of high-quality PHP code using the Symfony framework
  • Support in the development of responsive front-end applications
  • Optimizing applications to ensure maximum speed and scalability
  • Writing and executing unit tests with PHPUnit while maintaining a high standard of code quality
  • Applying CI/CD procedures to optimize development and deployment workflows
  • Identifying and solving complex technical issues to ensure the efficient delivery of projects

Our requirements

  • A degree in computer science or a related field of study
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development
  • Very good knowledge of PHP (8+), with good knowledge of PHPUnit
  • Experience with web server technologies such as Apache and IIS
  • Solid knowledge of databases (MariaDB, MSSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with API protocols such as HTTP (especially RESTful APIs) and SOAP
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and containerization (Docker)
  • Linux command line knowledge, management of authorizations and understanding of the operating system
  • Your profile is rounded off by your strong communication skills and your good knowledge of German and English
We also value:
  • Experience with Symfony and modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue/React).
  • Familiarity with GitLab
  • Knowledge of AWS technologies (EKS, RDS, EC2, Elastic IP...)
  • Understanding of network technologies (DNS, HTTP/S, SFTP...)
  • Experience with authentication and authorization technologies (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, Keycloak)
  • Experience with PayPal Braintree integration
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Interest in mobility, smart cities and green technologies
